Consultations

Consultations are best described as any additional advice or guidance scheduled as a one-on one with a member of the Multisport Solutions Coaching staff.

Some typical uses of consultation time are:

  • Evaluation of performance testing
  • Specific skill or drill advice on run technique, on the bike or in the pool
  • One-to-one coaching advice about issues or obstacles in training
  • Training plan advice

Cost: $100 per 60-minute session + $50 per additional person.

Motor pacing

This is a great exercise in building race speed, pedaling efficiency, cadence development, drafting skills, recovery and intensity. It’s one of the best polishing workouts for the racing season, taking the place of a high-intensity ride.

Specifically, you're in for 90 minutes of fun, high-speed drafting behind a motorcycle. A MSS-trained motorpacing driver will lead you to just under your limit and hold you there. Then you'll have to go over your limit to maintain your speed over hills and you'll teach yourself to recover at a high workload. Sprinters can use part of the session for burn-offs (high speed sprints behind the motor). The trick is to ride closer to the motorcycle. You'll find the drafting "sweet spot" (not always directly behind the bike depending on the wind!) and do even better.

Testing

To get the most out of your training it is vital that athletes get tested regularly to ensure complete accuracy of training intensities, assessing training adaptations and setting benchmarks. Testing is offered for both cycle and run modalities in the lab and the field.

A qualified MSS coach will be there to support you, analyse your performance and push you throughout the testing session.
